During the Exemplary Village of Asturias 2003 prize giving ceremony in Navelgas, His Royal Majesty The Prince of Asturias participated in various traditional activities. Amongst them we can mention Celtic Bowling or a Goldpanning Demonstration by the Sanfiz Family.

It has been seven years since Navelgas joined the World Goldpanning Association and since then, its team has participated in National, European and World Championships. Last year in Hamatonbetsu (Japan), Spain was elected to host the next European Goldpanning Championship which will be celebrated in Navelgas in the year 2005.
